SUMMIT GIRLS SOCCER
2011-2012 Summit Soccer Updates.
August schedule has been posted! Times are subject to change.
Spring and Summer Training Schedule
There will be an informatinal meeting at Summit the first week of March during lunch for current students interested in playing soccer this coming fall. We will discuss Spring training opportunities and Summer schedule. If you are planning on transferring to Summit please check this web-site and/or contact one of the coaches for upcoming spring and summer training opportunities. If you are an incoming freshman please plan on attending 8th grade orientation, Monday March 12th 6:30pm-8pm, where we will have a table setup with information regarding spring and summer schedule training dates and times.
Local HS Spring/Summer Soccer Program for non Rush Nike players
Great opportunity to get touches on the ball before tryouts!
Several local players and their families are trying to pull together a summer training/tournament team for non-Nike players. We have 4-5 sophomores from Summit, and a few from Mountain View and from Redmond. We might be at 10-12 players, but would really like to get to 20 players or so. Summer absenteeism is a problem and training with 16 players is much better than training with 6-8 players. There are a lot of strong players in Bend who are not playing year-round soccer and we're tying to find those who want to tune their skills up, but aren't on the year-round program. This program will run from April through early August.
Training will be the focus with two practices per week, but there will be participation in two tournaments (one here and one probably in the Portland area). The team would be looking to take on committed players of any age even though it could impact placement in tournaments.
We're trying to ascertain interest in participation by juniors, sophomores, and freshman (this year's).
The local soccer club would provide the administration and the coach would be Enzo Palacios who has been coaching with Rush for the past several years. He has scheduled an
Introductory meeting/Pick-up Game/Practice from 4:00 to 5:30, Sunday, February 19th, at Skyview Middle School for any player who might be interested in participating.
No price has yet been set, but the local club is looking at $400 to $500 per player for the summer program. More players may bring down the cost.
If any player is interested, even if they can't make it to the meetup on Feb. 19th, please have them contact either Coach Enzo Palacios at 541.948.5670 or robmom71@msn.com or me at dp@paulsonllc.com for more information.
